Accelerate SDG through ICT

The world feels super-connected these days, and many of us enjoy the daily benefits of digital technology. But right now, four billion people around the world still don’t have access to the internet. Almost half a billion live outside the range of mobile signals.

For these people in distressed regions of the world, being connected isn’t just about convenience. It’s about basic economic inclusion.

When it comes to sustainable development, emerging technologies like 5G, cloud, and artificial intelligence are a path out of poverty, and a path to better health. They are access to safer neighborhoods and quality education.

Digital connectivity has the power to transform lives and promote economic growth. By making digital universal, affordable, open, and safe, we can bring more people together and drive real global progress.

We have a long way to go, but as long as we work together, I am confident we can achieve our shared goals by 2030.
